Cadet Program information is the property of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)/Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers Group (CJCR Gp) and is published through the official communication channels of Canada.ca and Cadet365. Examples of CAF/CJCR Gp owned information include:
training manuals;
training materials;
forms;
policy documents;
cadet images/pictures of cadets; and
any other information source or data product produced for use within the Canadian Cadet Organizations.
It is recognized that program stakeholders outside of the CAF/CJCR Gp such as local committees, Cadet Leagues, and other supporting organizations may maintain websites, social media accounts, and newsletter services related to corps/squadron activities. These platforms are important and help to support individual corps/squadrons at the community level, while providing information for parents/guardians and other community members.
Over time, a significant amount of Cadet Program information has been published to websites, newsletters, social media, and other public sources that are not under the authority of the CAF/CJCR Gp. This has resulted in multiple sources of outdated Cadet Program information, copyright infringement, and incorrect and outdated versions of CAF/CJCR Gp information remaining publicly available. To ensure the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the Cadet Program is available, effective 1 April 2025, corps/squadron Commanding Officers will ensure that:
staff, CJCR Gp volunteers, and cadets have access to and use of Cadet Program information only from the authorized sources which are Canada.ca and Cadet365;
staff and CJCR Gp volunteers do not provide copies of Cadet Program information for publication on non-government owned websites or other communication platforms; and
they collaborate with program stakeholders to prevent misinformation by providing links to Cadet Program information published on the official communications channel of Canada.ca, for inclusion on non-government owned communication platforms, when appropriate.
To assist with the continued transition toward Cadet365, individuals may consult CJCR Group IT Support and Resources or engage with their Zone Training Officer or Area Office. CJCR Gp personnel may contact the IT Service Desk for technical assistance as follows:
